Buffalo Check Decor Ideas
Hereβs how weβve used buffalo check throughout the entire year!
Spring: Buffalo Check + Teal
I had these really beautiful teal plates so this was the perfect pastel to use for spring. Instead of your typical tablescape on a table, we actually set up my counter that seats 4. Starting with a buffalo checkered runner, we added lots of pretty spring colors on top of the black and white. Check out the original post with all the details of this spring tablescape.
Sparkle Tip:
The chargers were a great find from Dollar Tree so keep a lookout for them!
On the side, we created a really cute matching kids table too. Check out the bunny ears we made with wrapping paper.

Summer: Buffalo Check + Watermelon
Watermelon is a great summer tablescape and it matches well with buffalo check. We created this sweet look with a small patio. It includes a runner, charger, and two pillows. The charger, clear plates, watermelon paper plates, watermelon glasses, and black wine glasses were all from Dollar Tree.
At the center of the table, we placed a tiered stand full of delicious watermelon. Next to the table, we placed Dannyβs bike overflowing with red and green balloons. All you have to do is add black dots with a marker to the red balloons to make them look like watermelon seeds.

Winter: Buffalo Check + Red for Christmas
Christmas is the most popular time of the year to use this black and white pattern. Naturally, you can combine it with red and it will always look good. Here are a few different areas of the house that you can decorate using buffalo check ribbon, throw pillows, and table cloth. Here’s how we added buffalo checkered ribbon to lanterns on the porch.
Christmas Tree
For my Christmas tree last year I put together this very simple buffalo check style with ribbon and ornaments for Dollar Tree. To balance the black and white, I added bunches of red ribbon so they felt like winter berries. Of course, I had to have matching buffalo check wrapping paper as well.
Hot Cocoa Bar
For our Christmas card photo, we decided to put together this amazing hot cocoa stand on the back of a friend’s pickup truck. First, we covered the bottom of the truck with a large buffalo check tablecloth. Then we piled up 4 wooden crates to act as shelves for the hot cocoa. Then we adorned it with lots of mini wreaths, lanterns, throw pillows, and cozy blankets. Check out the original Hot Cocoa Bar post with all the details.
Master Bedroom
Finally, we turned Dannyβs master bedroom into a warm and cozy Christmas oasis. The key to this is that you donβt need a lot of items that have a black and white checkered pattern. Just a few key pieces will do. On the bed, we used the same throw pillows and we added a checkered plate to the tray. Then you can mix in many other Christmas patterns and colors. Check out the original post for all details to this buffalo check Christmas master bedroom.
