No one loves a good mason jar craft more than us. However, we pile up dozens and dozens of glass food jars in the recycling bin. Why not just use those to make beautiful things for your home?
After our next Italian dinner, we took the sauce jars and got creative. With a little bit of frosted glass spray paint, we made these gorgeous vases. This is a super simple DIY project you can do during a lazy afternoon!

Hereβs what you need:
- Glass food jar (or multiple)
- Masking tape
- Frosted glass spray paint
You can upcycle these glass food jars in 4 easy steps:
Can’t do this now? Save it for a rainy day!
Step 1 – Clean the jar.
Remove the label and wash the jar. The best way to remove the label cleanly is to let sit in hot water for 10 minutes or so. Let dry.
Step 2 – Place the painterβs tape in a pattern.
There are so many ways you can do this. Here we did both vertical and horizontal stripes but you can do any variation of patterns. You can even use round stickers to make a polka dot pattern.
Step 3 – Spray paint!
Spray the jars with frosted glass spray paint over a plastic bag. Let dry. This should only take about 45 minutes to an hour.
Step 4 – Peel off tape.
Slowly peel off the tape so you keep the clean lines.
Add some fresh flowers and youβre done! Imagine all the versions you can make for different holidays.
Mr. Bear surely enjoyed the new vases π
