Thanks to The Spa Girl Life for sponsoring this post! As always, all opinions are my own.
These days, most of us are finding more and more ways to make ourselves comfortable at home. We now have more time to work on those DIY projects to make our home beautiful, we are creating activities for us to spend with the family, or simply trying out new recipes at home.
We are stressed and pushed to think outside the box. Self-care is no different. There is no reason why you can’t create your own mini spa at home to help you relax. No need to get complicated. Just a simple few items can help you decompress in a bubble bath for a little while.
Before you get started, you need to prepare. Set some time and alert the family. Beg them for no interruptions!

#1 – A Relaxing Aromatherapy Soy Candle From The Spa Girl Life
Known as a mini first aid kit for the soul, The Spa Girl Life is a line of luxurious soy candles started by Nicole Black. The candle kits come complete with 2 amazonite crystals and a journal card for you to write on.
This Cosmic Karma candle is infused with eucalyptus and mint and is great for releasing grief and sorrow. The Spa Girl makes a variety of incredible scents so make sure to check them all out.
While you are setting up your at-home spa, turn on the candle so the relaxing smell can penetrate your bathroom. Don’t worry about wasting it, this candle has 40 hours of burn time. The glass jar is reusable so you know we will create something with it as soon as it’s done 😉
Nicole Black has worked in the spa industry for many years so she knows what works and what doesn’t. She even provides free guided meditations that will completely take you away from your everyday life.

#2 – A One of a Kind DIY Bath Tub Tray
You can’t relax in a tub without a comfortable place to put your wine glass! Here’s how to make your own bathtub shelf that is made to fit perfectly onto your tub. All you need is a 4 foot slab of wood from Home Depot, 2 cabinet handles, and a wood stain of your choice.
First, but your piece of wood to the size of your tub so that it sits a few inches over the tub itself.
Stain the wood and let it dry.
Drill in the holes to add the handles.
If you have a Cricut, you can add fun words.

#5 – Inspirational Reading Material
What you don’t want to do in your at home spa is bring a device. We are on our devices ALL. DAY. LONG. If you want to play some music, then fine. Play it, and set it aside. But generally, this is the time to disconnect. Reading something inspirational is key. Here is a list of our favorite books by topic.
Law of Attraction – The Secret
Just a little bit of positivity 🙂
Wine – Wine Folly
Learn everything you need to know about wine in an easy to understand, visual way.
Productivity – Listful Thinking
Paula Rizzo is a personal friend of mine. She is truly an expert in productivity and I’ve learned so much from her.
Travel – l,000 Places to See Before You Die
I know it doesn’t seem like we can go anywhere right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start planning your next trip!
#6 – Something to Munch On
Of course us wine lovers can’t go anywhere without a glass of wine, and that includes the tub! But the perfect addition to the wine is some delicious dark chocolate to cleanse the pallet.
For a non-alcoholic option, consider this relaxing tea blend. Pair this with some fresh bread or fruit.
With the pieces of wood left over from the tray, we also made these fun signs using the Cricut just for fun!
