This yearβs back-to-school will be so special since most kids will go back to in-person learning full time. Get the kids really excited by throwing them a fun back-to-school party. We decided to do a fun and bright neon theme. You can get all these supplies and party elements at Dollar Tree!

Sparkle Tip:
The key to this fun DIY is to grab some pool noodles and sunglasses during the summer and save them for the back-to-school party.
School is Cool Banner
We thought it would be fun to combine the bright neon colors with the black and white marble pattern from composition books. Yes, we bought a few composition books from the dollar store and cut them up! We even found the neon letters in the craft corner at Dollar Tree. Bright sunglasses formed the double βOβs in βschoolβ and βcoolβ. Use a hole punch to open holes on each side of the letter panel and then thread through a bright-colored ribbon.
Finally, we attached the banner onto a white foam board which we turned into a piece of notebook paper. All you have to do is draw light blue horizontal lines with a crayon. Then 1 red line towards the left. Use a grey crayon to add the circles to the βpaperβ.

DIY Pool Noodle Crayons and Colored Pencils.
Weβve seen these crayons and pencils made out of pool noodles all over Pinterest. But to match our theme, we made neon orange and green.
For the pencil, all you have to do is wrap brown paper to the top of the pool noodle like a cone. Then, create another cone with card stock the same color as the pool noodle.
The crayons we made were a bit smaller so we cut the pool noodle into 3 sections. Then we simply taped 4 strips of black card stock to each end and then an oval shape to the middle. Finally, add a cone to the top in the same color as the pool noodle.
Here’s what you need to recreate this look:

Math & Alphabet Banner
You can easily make a back-to-school-themed banner with any of the elements you can find in the school section at Dollar Tree. We grabbed a pack of math flashcards and then added neon-colored paper stock behind it. Then in between each math card, we used black paper stock for the alphabet panels. We had my 7 year old write the letters with a white crayon.
